Dr. Buth earned a Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures from UCLA, and has become a recognized voice in the academic field of biblical studies, linguistics, and discourse analysis. He worked in Bible Translation with the Summer Institute of Linguistics and the United Bible Societies. He is the founder and director the Biblical Language Center and the Vice-President of the Institute for Biblical Languages and Translation in Jerusalem. He is the author of Living Biblical Hebrew for Everyone and more recently co-edited The Language Environment of First Century Judaea: Jerusalem Studies in the Synoptic Gospels—Volume Two, and is a pioneer in the use of second language acquisition methods to study biblical languages.

Dr. Hudgins serves as Assistant Professor of Biblical and Theological Studies at Capital Seminary and Graduate School in Washington, D.C. He earned an Ed.D. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Greek Philology at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain, where the title of his dissertation was “The Greek New Testament of the Complutensian Polyglot: Vatican Manuscripts and the Gospel of Matthew.” He is also the author of Luke 6:40 and the Theme of Likeness Education in the New Testament. He is a member of the Semantic Analysis Research Group of Cordoba (Spain), which produces the Greek-Spanish Dictionary of the New Testament.

Dr. Levinsohn holds a PhD in Linguistic Science from the University of Reading, UK. He is a member of Wycliffe Bible Translators and, with his wife Nessie, worked as a linguist and translator with the Inga people of Colombia from 1968 to 1995. As a Senior Linguistic Consultant with SIL International, he has directed ‘Discourse for Translation’ workshops in over 20 countries for linguist-translators working with over 350 languages. During these workshops, participants analyze discourse features of local languages and compare or contrast them with corresponding features of Greek or Hebrew. Dr. Levinsohn is the author Textual Connections in Acts and Discourse Features of New Testament Greek.

Dr. Porter completed B.A. (Point Loma College) and M.A. (Claremont Graduate School) degrees in English before being “converted” to biblical studies, where he did a M.A. in New Testament (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) and a Ph.D. in biblical studies and linguistics (University of Sheffield). He has taught for nearly thirty years in Canada, the US and the UK. Since 2001, he has been President, Dean, and Professor of New Testament at McMaster Divinity College in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (the largest Baptist seminary in Canada). He holds the Roy A. Hope Chair in Christian Worldview. Dr. Porter has authored or co-authored 28 books and edited nearly 90 volumes. He is a prolific author in the area of linguistics and New Testament Greek, having written Verbal Aspect in the Greek of the New Testament, Idioms of the Greek New Testament, and Linguistic Analysis of the Greek New Testament, as well as numerous other books and articles. Dr. Porter preaches regularly and attends Mount Hamilton Baptist Church with his wife, Dr. Wendy Porter, who is a musician and fellow educator.

Chris Evans is an entrepreneur, teacher, author, and consultant to for profit and non profit enterprises. He has served on various boards including DOOR International, Trinity Academy, Communities in Schools, NC State’s Entrepreneurship Advisory Board and The Trinity Forum. He currently serves as Executive Chair of Tethis, a venture-funded startup that is making a green alternative to the super-absorbent used in diapers. He is also a semi-professional sand sculptor. He and his wife, Cathy, attend the Summit Church and they have a daughter living in L.A. and a son completing his studies at NC State – where Chris and Cathy also attended.

His book, Fruit at Work, looks at the practice of workplace Christianity and is in its third printing. It has frequently been used in small group studies and as part of conferences on faith and the workplace.
